Exploring and finding new music is something that I thoroughly enjoy. This year, there were a bunch of gems. As the year comes to a close, here are my top 7 songs from 2025. I tried to cap it at five, but no luck there.
MY SOUL / WORSHIP INITIATIVE FT.DAVY FLOWERS
I appreciate how The Worship Initiative continues to produce songs that are grounded in scripture, dynamic in sound, and cast our gaze onto God. Personally, this year seemed to have a lot of waiting…and more waiting…and continued waiting, and this song encouraged me in the refinement of it all by looking to Christ and his sufficiency.
You have spoken
And I remember
That loving kindness and power belong
Power belongs to you
All of it. From the beginning verses to the build-up at the bridge, you are preaching truth to your soul about who God is. I love this song. I’m a sucker for a good bridge, and this one had me belting.
He is my provider, covenant protector
All my hope is in the Lord my God
He is my sustainer, merciful redeemer
All my hope is in the Lord my God
MON AMOUR EN JAUNE / AUSTIN ARMSTRONG
From the first stroke of the piano key, I was in love with this instrumental ballad. There is a beauty in listening to nothing, yet everything. No voices, just being serenaded by the simplicity of nature and the crescendo of simple notes.
TRUST IN GOD / WORSHIP INITIATIVE FT. DAVY FLOWERS
I distinctly remember hearing this song for the first time at CROSS con earlier this year. The lead singer’s smooth voice, with the gentle acoustic instrumentals working alongside the chorus, grabbed my attention and stuck with me for the rest of the year.
Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine
He’s been my fourth man in the fire, time after time
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
And what He did for me on Calvary is more than enoughI trust in God, my Savior
The one who will never fail
He will never fail
GOODBYE YESTERDAY/ I WAS, BUT GOD / WASHED
3 for 1 special from Elevation Rhythm? These are a package deal that I can’t separate. Fast beat. Strong lyrics. Take me there. I am game. These are fun songs that I enjoyed listening to while running, playing pickleball, driving, or cooking in the kitchen. It made my heart happy to hear these songs and be reminded of the freedom we have in Christ, and rejoice in it. Therefore, queue these up and have a jam session in your car or in the kitchen.
P.S. The Spanish version of Goodbye Yesterday is a personal favorite as well!
Goodbye yesterday
I’m living in the light of a new day
I won’t waste another minute
In my old ways
Praise the Lord
I’ve been born again
See He took my sin and broke my bondage
And He raised me up right outta that grave
So I can’t hold my hallelujah
I’m so glad that Jesus savesI was sinking
But I’m singing now
I was, but God
But God had a different plan
I was drowning
But I’m dancing now
I was, but God
But God had a different plan
Cause You took away my shame
And You nailed it to the cross
You got me running out the grave
Oh hallelujah, here I come
How about you? What was a song that was on repeat for you in 2025? I would love to hear it. Feel free to share and drop it in the comments below.
