He Is Not Weak In Dealing With You

“He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you.”

2 Corinthians 13:3

The dimness of hope in view is hazy. The weight of anxiety is crippling. The sadness of a loss is disorientating. The craving for freedom from the shackles of all of these seems impossible. But this I call to mind, “God is not weak in dealing with you.” His power raised Christ from the dead, so He promises to raise you up with the same power (Romans 6:1-11). In our weakness, we get acquainted with our Savior and brother, Jesus (Mark 3:35). In our weakness, we rely on the only power that can save us. In our weakness, our circumstances recalibrate us to the real purpose here on earth (2 Corinthians 5:9). We are weak in our flesh, but “we live with Him by the power of God” (2 Corinthians 13:4). What an encouragement! We live with Him. He did not just save us and then leave us to our own devices. He gave us His Spirit. He is working. He is giving us what we need each day and that is Him. He supplies our needs. If you are in Christ, He is not weak in dealing with your heaviness, hardships, exhaustion, tears, fears, diagnosis, worries, or sin in your life. He is more powerful than it because He already conquered it from His grave. 

I love these last verses at the end of 2 Corinthians because they wake me from my slumber and remind my heart as I preach them to myself who God is. They are jolting and I like it. I hope you are encouraged by this challenge from Jacob Crouch’s blog “Aliens and Pilgrims” which was something brief, and something true. 

“Since you seek proof that Christ is speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. For He was crucified in weakness but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but in dealing with you we will live with Him by the power of God.  -2 Corinthians 13:3-4
