Leaves sway
Evenings eager to dim away
A waltz in the twinkle of an early moonlit gleam

Routines pickup pace
Yet the ground revolts, and cascades into a listless scene
Making rest in the in-between

How It Came To Be

September is an in-between month. The school bells have rung, and summer is over. People are knocking on Autumn’s door. Change is on many heartbeats. It beholds the dawn of a new season. Giddiness thrills us when we experience the first crisp breeze. Yet, our schedules quickly fill up with Bible studies, games, holiday festivities, and a slew of other items on the agenda. While on a walk, I noticed this transition emerging as a few leaves were turning a different shade. It made me think about this “in-between.” Not much seems to be going on, but underneath there are quiet happenings. Faithfulness and trust in the Lord come to the forefront as Christ is our rest in the in-between.
